Órdenes y peticiones en estilo indirecto
Cuando reportas una orden o petición, no repites las palabras exactas: las transformas. En vez del imperativo directo ('Close the door!'), usas un verbo report + objeto + TO + infinitivo: 'He told me to close the door.' Es como pasar de un comando literal a una llamada de función con parámetros: quién ordenó, a quién, y qué hacer.
El error clásico del hispanohablante es olvidar el TO o poner el verbo mal. En español dices 'me dijo que cerrara la puerta' con subjuntivo, pero el inglés usa el infinitivo con TO: 'told me TO close'. Nunca 'told me that close' ni 'told me close'. El patrón es rígido: TELL/ASK + OBJETO + TO + INFINITIVO.
Para la NEGATIVA se pone NOT antes del TO: 'She told me NOT TO be late.' No uses 'don't' ni 'not close' — el negativo del infinitivo reportado es siempre 'not to + verbo'. Es como invertir la condición de la orden manteniendo la misma estructura.
Ojo con TELL, SAY y ASK, que se confunden mucho. TELL siempre necesita un objeto (told ME, told HIM). SAY no lleva objeto directo de persona ('he said that...', o 'he said TO me'). ASK se usa para peticiones y preguntas. Es la trampa más común: 'he said me' es INCORRECTO — debe ser 'he told me' o 'he said to me'.

Reported: She asked me to help her. NEGATIVE: TELL/ASK + OBJETO + NOT TO + INFINITIVO Direct: "Don't touch it!" Reported: He told me not to touch it. CONTRASTE con reported statement (SAY + that): "I am tired." → He said (that) he was tired.
