Future Continuous

Una acción que estará en progreso en un momento específico del futuro.

El Future Continuous describe una acción que estará ocurriendo en un momento específico del futuro. No es que vaya a comenzar en ese momento, sino que ya estará en curso. Es como programar una función que ya estará ejecutándose cuando llegues a un checkpoint.

Se forma con WILL BE + verbo-ing para todas las personas. No hay variaciones de conjugación: 'I will be working', 'she will be working', 'they will be working'. La uniformidad lo hace más simple que otros tiempos.

Los hispanohablantes suelen usar el Future Simple donde debería ir el Future Continuous. Si el futuro simple dice 'haré algo mañana', el continuo dice 'estaré haciéndolo en ese momento'. La diferencia es el enfoque en el proceso versus el inicio de la acción.

Una función comunicativa muy útil es hacer preguntas educadas sobre los planes de alguien, sin presionarlo: 'Will you be using the car this evening?' es más cortés que '¿Me prestas el coche?'. En lugar de pedir directamente, preguntas si esa acción ya estaba planeada.

Marcadores de tiempo típicos: 'at this time tomorrow', 'at 8 o'clock tonight', 'this time next week', 'when you arrive'. Estos indican el momento futuro en el que la acción estará en curso.
