Future with Will
Predicciones, promesas y decisiones espontáneas
WILL es el auxiliar de futuro más versátil del inglés. No es solo 'voy a hacer algo' — tiene tres usos distintos que los hispanohablantes suelen mezclar: predicciones generales sobre el futuro, decisiones tomadas EN EL MOMENTO de hablar, y promesas u ofrecimientos. Entender cuándo aplica cada uno es más importante que memorizar la estructura.
La estructura es muy sencilla: WILL + verbo en forma base para todas las personas, sin excepción. No hay conjugación: 'I will go', 'she will go', 'they will go'. Muchos hispanohablantes añaden -s a la tercera persona ('she wills') por analogía con el presente simple — ese error no existe en inglés.
La contracción 'LL es muy frecuente en inglés hablado e informal: 'I'll call you later', 'She'll be there'. La negación WON'T (will not) es también una contracción muy usada y tiene pronunciación especial: /wəʊnt/. Muchos la confunden con 'won't' pronunciado como 'wonut', lo cual suena extraño.
Comparado con 'going to': usa WILL para predicciones sin evidencia presente, decisiones espontáneas y promesas. Usa GOING TO para planes ya decididos o predicciones basadas en evidencia observable ('Look at those clouds — it's going to rain').
