Adjetivos y su posición correcta en la oración
En español, los adjetivos pueden ir antes o después del sustantivo y a veces concuerdan en género y número ('una casa bonita', 'unos libros interesantes'). En inglés, las reglas son más estrictas: los adjetivos van SIEMPRE antes del sustantivo y NUNCA tienen plural.
El error más común de hispanohablantes es añadir '-s' a los adjetivos: 'reds cars', 'bigs houses'. En inglés, el adjetivo es invariable: 'red cars', 'big houses'. No importa si el sustantivo es singular o plural, masculino o femenino.
Cuando el adjetivo va después del verbo 'be' (o de verbos copulativos como 'seem', 'look', 'feel', 'become'), se llama adjetivo predicativo y describe al sujeto: 'The car is red.' / 'She looks tired.' Esto equivale al español 'El coche es rojo' / 'Ella parece cansada'.
Cuando se usan varios adjetivos antes de un sustantivo, hay un orden fijo que los angloparlantes nativos siguen de manera intuitiva: opinión → tamaño → edad → forma → color → origen → material → propósito + sustantivo. Un ejemplo clásico: 'a nice small old round red Italian wooden antique box'. Para el nivel A1 lo más importante es el orden básico: opinión-tamaño-edad-color.
Otro error frecuente es colocar el adjetivo después del sustantivo como en español: 'a house big', 'a car red'. Esto es siempre incorrecto en inglés estándar (salvo raras frases fijas como 'the president elect'). El adjetivo va antes: 'a big house', 'a red car'.
