Inversión con adverbios negativos y restrictivos — Never have I seen, Not only...but also
La inversión es como cambiar el orden de los parámetros en una función para denotar énfasis. En inglés normal el sujeto va primero (SVO), pero cuando un adverbio negativo o restrictivo se mueve al inicio de la oración, el auxiliar y el sujeto se invierten. Es la forma que tiene el lenguaje de decir 'esto es MUY importante, prestad atención'.
Los trigger más comunes son: never, rarely, seldom, hardly, barely, no sooner, not only, not until, under no circumstances, only then. Todos comparten una propiedad: son semánticamente negativos o restrictivos. La inversión es obligatoria — sin ella la frase suena incorrecta o pierde énfasis.
Pensemos en la inversión como un try/catch emocional: el adverbio negativo es el error que se lanza, y la inversión es la estructura que lo captura y le da peso dramático. Sin la inversión, la frase es como un error silenciado — técnicamente funciona pero pierde su impacto.
