Past Perfect

HAD es el único auxiliar: 'I had', 'she had', 'they had'. No hay una forma diferente para He/She/It como en el Present Perfect.

El error típico de los hispanohablantes es usar Past Simple para los dos eventos, sin marcar cuál ocurrió primero: 'When she arrived, I ate' puede ser ambiguo. Con Past Perfect queda claro: 'When she arrived, I had already eaten' — la comida fue primero.

Las conjunciones que acompañan al Past Perfect son claves: 'before', 'after', 'when', 'by the time', 'already', 'just', 'never'.

Y en el Third Conditional: 'If I had known, I would have told you.'
